Kick-off meeting for the 11 projects of third Thematically Open Call
The Kick-off meeting of the third Thematically Open Call seeks to connect the project team members of the 11 new projects and to establish an opportunity for them to engage in dialogue regarding their running or prospective r4d projects.
The Kick-off meeting of the third Thematically Open Call aims to provide a framework for the project team members of the grants awarded in the third Thematically Open Call to come together and engage in creative dialogue. Apart from the goal to encourage interaction between participants, we aim to
- connect scientists working on similar topics, disciplines and research fields;
- connect researchers facing similar challenges and overcoming comparable impediments;
- connect groups at different stages of their respective projects, thus establishing a possibility for the exchange of guidance and advice among research groups at different points of their projects and;
- above all, to connect all persons invested in the attainment of the three main aims of the r4d programme, namely the delivery of scientific discoveries that tackle global issues and poverty, the utilization and application of these results as well as the resulting augmentation of expertise for the grasping of the complexity of global issues.
The Kick-off meeting of the third Thematically Open Call will take place on 9 October 2018 from 9:00 – 13:00, in the plenary room 21 at the Wildhainweg 21 in Bern. A buffet lunch will be served. Our offices are situated within walking distance from Bern’s main train station.
Registration: Please send an e-mail, indicating the number of persons attending, by 21 August 2018 to r4d-opencall@snf.ch . Please note that we aim to have at least one representative per project participating in the event.
