Voices of SDG16+ from Guatemala, Nigeria and Switzerland

Two teams from the r4d programme submitted video clips to the Call for "Voices of SDG16+: Stories for Global Action", a video competition in the run-up to the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2019 of the United Nations.

The synthesis in the Social Conflicts module of the r4d programme evolves around a participatory filmmaking process with researchers, local protagonists and science filmmakers from nine countries around the world. Together, they focus on the diverse reframing of past and present social conflicts and provide insights for ending violence and for sustaining peace, justice and inclusion.

Filming in Nigeria, Guatemala, Sri Lanka and Switzerland took place in 2018 and the post-production of the 75 minutes research documentary is in its final phase. The full documentary will be presented during the Geneva Peace Week in November 2019.

The two videos "Voices of SDG16+" uses footage from Guatemala, Nigeria and Switzerland to portray activists and researchers and how they relate their work to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These videos were submitted to the Call for " Voices of SDG16+: Stories for Global Action External Link Icon", a video competition in the run-up to the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2019 of the United Nations.
