Networking, connecting, knowledge sharing
The Swiss Programme for Research on Global Issues for Development (r4d programme) supports scientific research aimed at solving global problems with a focus on Asian, African and Latin American countries. It funds international projects in five thematic modules and a thematically open module. The module Employment focuses on the creation of jobs and income for poor population groups within the context of sustainable development. Three projects are funded with an overall budget of 5.1 Million Swiss Francs:
- Feminisation, agricultural transition and rural employment
- Employment effects of development policies
- Trade and labor market outcomes in developing countries
The projects started in 2014. The implementation of the research results into policy and practice is of high significance and an integral part of the research activities. The networking event provides a platform for exchange with the international project consortia, representatives from policy and practice, members of the scientific community, and members of the international Review Panel who evaluate the three projects throughout their research.
