r4d Lunch #Agroecologyworks!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to the corona virus and the measures taken to fight it, this r4d Lunch cannot take place as planned. We have made rearrangements for the event to enable exchange and feedback.

The r4d programme and Biovision invite you to the r4d Lunch #Agroecologyworks! We originally planned it as a face-to-face lunch meeting event with presentation of the financial flow analysis and documentary pre-screening. See also r4d Lunch flyer .

Due to the corona virus pandemic we split the meeting:

1) An online meeting will take place on 22 and 23 April 2020, 12-14.15h CET, with a decentralised viewing of an early version of the documentary film about the "Food Systems Caravan". The structure of this meeting will be:

  • Cisco WebEx meeting with introduction of context of the documentary by Fernando Sousa and Sara Correia (15min)
  • Decentralised individual viewing at the same time with provided link to raw cut of the documentary (70-90min)
  • Reconvening Cisco WebEx meeting for exchange of reactions; closure of online meeting (15-30min)
  • Additional feedback opportunity on the documentary via survey until about a week after the meeting.

2) The r4d Lunch as originally planned will be postponed to the post-corona time when such face-to-face meetings are again possible. We will the screen an updated version of the documentary film and will present the Financial Flow Analysis (see also video-clip as teaser External Link Iconfor this study).

By joining this r4d Lunch you have the opportunity to:

  • get informed about fascinating research and new initiatives in agroecology and food and nutrition security;
  • be part of a pre-screening of an early version of the documentary and provide comments;
  • network for a sustainable transformation of food systems;
  • disseminate your r4d Lunch take-away messages into your own networks.

This r4d Lunch is co-organised by the r4d programme and Biovision External Link Icon.

We look forward to exchanging with you on the following two agenda items:

  • "Agricultural Research for Development (AgR4D) Originating in Switzerland – Dawn of an Agroecological Transition?" Donors and implementers alike call for research that demonstrates the productivity and economic viability of AE on a larger scale. The study sheds light on the money flow and provides interesting perspectives.
  • The Food Systems Caravan West Africa put agroecology and systems thinking at the core of its approach. It was on tour from September to November 2019 and provided a unique opportunity of moving a coordinating multimedia team along the road from Bamako, Mali, to Ibadan, Nigeria, where r4d partner institutions and field sites were present throughout. The team documented ongoing research activitives, organised events and promoted a cross-project and cross-country learning process. An early version of the documentary emerging from the Food Systems Caravan will be shared with you in a pre-screening.

Registration closed on 15 April 2020 .
